Have you heard of Sanford, Florida? It's one of the oldest incorporated cities in Central Florida - a cousin, of sorts, to the well-traveled city of Orlando.

The city is beautiful with towering oaks trees and 19th-century Victorian homes lining the brick roads. It's booming with shoppers browsing the antique shops, restaurants and art galleries in Downtown. Lucky for us, Boxelder, a boutique gift store offering a modern selection of affordable gift items, including Key West Aloe products, is right in the middle of Sanford. We caught up with Boxelder's owner Kyle Perry and had a chance to learn more about him, his boutique gift shop, and his fun city.

Key West Aloe: When & why did you open Boxelder?
Kyle: My interest in gift shops developed over my retail career with Restoration Hardware and later with Crabtree & Evelyn. I took my interest and experience and opened Boxelder in early 2013. As a Florida native, Key West Aloe was a natural product choice for my gift shop and I have proudly featured the products for almost 4 years! KWA: Describe your store in one sentence.
K: A boutique gift shop with an assortment of “unique to the local marketplace” merchandise.

KWA: What Key West Aloe products do you carry?
K: Tropical lotions, full Facial Care line, full KWA line, Aloethera line (lotions, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner)

KWA: Besides KWA skin care, what other products do you carry in your store?
K: Body care products, soy candles, handbags, jewelry, kitchen accessories, bar accessories & greeting cards.

KWA: What’s your favorite KWA product?
K: Frangipani Lotion

KWA: Tell us more about your location?
K: We are in the middle of Historic Downtown Sanford which has other great shops, restaurants and a rapidly emerging microbrewery scene with two currently open and four in development.
